NCERT partners with Google to develop content

Google has partnered with NCERT to educate children on Digital Citizenship and Safety. As per latest news from Google, they will help NCERT in designing study material on awareness on being good and responsible digital citizens. This new curriculum will be introduced in computers or Information and Communication Technology (ICT) curriculum in schools from class 1 till class 12.

Nowadays students have been widely using internet for studies and for other activities like social networking making them exposed to various types of threats and inappropriate content which is not suitable to young students. As per the new course, students will be made aware about safe browsing and also how to stay away from threats.

The course will be implemented in almost all 1.5 million schools in the country where NCERT books have been prescribed.

The structure of the course will be as per the grade in which the student is studying to educate them as per their age and exposure to internet.

Many advanced topics like privacy, device management, intellectual property and reputation management will also be taught in senior classes.

Along with the study material students, Google is also in process of creating guidelines for teachers which will help then to teach students on responsible digital citizenship.
