Class – IX

General Instructions:

(i) The question paper has 31 questions in all. All questions are compulsory.

(ii) Questions from serial number 1 to 10 are Multiple Choice Questions. Each question carries 1 mark.

(iii) Questions from serial number 11 to 22 are 3 marks questions. Answer of these questions should not exceed 80 words each.

(iv) Questions from serial number 23 to 30 are 5 marks questions. Answer of these questions should not exceed 120 words each.

(v) Question number 31 is a map question of 4 marks from Geography only. After completion, attach the map inside your answer book.

2.Analyse the reasons of stalin’s unpopularity in Soviet Union. OR/ Analyse Hitler’s views about women and his policy towards them.

3.Mention the longitudinal and latitudinal extent of India. Which Line of latitude divides the country into two equal parts ?

4.Explain any three differences between Eastern Ghats and Western Ghats.

5.Name the four divisions of Northern plains according to the variations in relief features. Write features of any one of them.

6. Explain any three features of rivers of Himalayas.

7. Define democracy and explain any two features of it.

8. Explain the limitations of a democratic government.

9. How was Apartheid system particularly oppressive for the blacks? Give any three examples.

10. Describe any three ways to grow more on the same piece of land.
