There is an increasing trend amongst students to indulge into alcohol and tobacco products. The impact of the exposure is positive as well as negative. One of the negative impacts is that students have started smoking cigarettes in schools itself.
Small tobacco products and cigarettes sellers set up shops near to the schools. The students buy these products using their daily pocket money. Such kind of products impacts the health of the students very negatively.
In wake of many such reports CBSE has made it mandatory for all CBSE schools to display a notice board outside the school premises or on the gate giving warning that sale of cigarettes and tobacco products are not allowed within 100 meter radius of the school. It has also been directed by CBSE that the schools should not take sponsorship from such companies who deals in such products while organizing programs in the schools. Various other notifications have been issued by CBSE against use of tobacco products amongst students.
