Passion that is Biology

Science is an infinite topic, which solves the mysteries in the world about us. Students have fascination for the different topics which come under science. Some would find interest in the atoms and molecules and the reactions brought about by organic chemistry. Some would prefer the physics and the study of how everything works. Other find their attention captured by the intricate subject of Biology.

Biology is the working of the physical body of a living being. That could be a plant, your pet dog, a cockroach, or even the Human body. It is a subject that is learnt not only for the purpose of understanding the world about us, but because the researcher has a deep passion for the cells that build whole bodies, and the genetics which mark the difference between different beings.

That mystery of the functioning of the body like a well-maintained engine is what makes Biology so infinitely interesting.
• In a living body, you can find physics in the way blood is pumped to the lower extremities, and pushed up through veins back to the heart against gravity. You can find chemistry in the functioning of the enzymes and hormones released by glands in the body. Biology is an amalgamation of the different functions of Science all wrapped together.
• Biology is a marriage between basic science and the art of living. If you have a passion for creativity and the beauty of the world, you would understand how Biology takes you right to the lap of nature and brings you close to understanding and decoding the phenomenon that sustains life, and the world we live in. It is a doorway to exploring the factors which affect how life sustains itself and to the secrets of life itself.
• There are so many different sub-topics in Biology – Genetics, Botany, Zoology, Medicine, Physiology, Psychology – that there is never a dearth for the researcher to stop searching for answers. Each of these subjects are so much more intricate and detailed, weaving a picture of life and what it is, thread by thread.
