HRD Ministry has finally decided to reduce the NCERT syllabus by atleast half from the session which is going to start in 2019. For the session which is going to start from next month there wont be any change.
This change was long due to rising concerns of students and parents regarding the huge syllabus for all classes and subjects with almost 50 chapters for some subjects.
In this positive move the NCERT will review the entire syllabus and books for all classes and decide on those topics which do not add any value or does not promote value education. Those chapters may be removed.
The reduction will be for all classes.
In another major change, term examination system will again be introduced in classes and those students who are not able to pass in the exams will be detained.
For the students who fail in school level examinations which are normally held in March, then one more re-examination will be held in the next month. If the student again fails then the student will be detained in the same class.
