Alteration in UGC NET Selection criteria: Few things you need to know

UGC NET or National Eligibility Test is conducted by University Grants Commission (UGC) and is an entrance exam in our country in order to begin a career as Lecturers or Assistant Professors or junior research fellowship in various Colleges, Universities and other Educational Institutions. This year it is going to be held on November the 19th, 2017.

Some alteration has been initiated by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in the qualifying standards of the CBSE UGC NET (National Eligibility Test).

On 19th of November 2017, is the date for the examination is being prescribed by the governing body, in order to certify the appropriate candidates for assistant professor or junior research fellowship in various universities and colleges of the country.

The Changes you need know before appearing:-

In the case of the Reserved Category candidates, earlier they used to qualify with 15%, however, now it will be considered at 6%.

Assuming some modification in the selection criteria for the reserved category, which used to offer advantages to Reserved Category candidates in the minimum break off or cut off index over the Unreserved Category.

The do’s and don't's of the test are supposed to be announced on the official website, www.cbsenet.nic.in before 24th July 2017.

In the case of candidates, who wants to apply for the CBSE UGC NET, may fill the online application form from 1st August 2017 and the last date is August 30th,2017.However, In the case of the Examination fee, the candidates may get the time till 31st of August,2017.

The Test comprises of three papers, with all objective type questions only to be held on Sunday, The November 19th, 2017.

Paper One is going to be one hour and fifteen minutes or one and quarter hours(1H;15M) and will comprise of 100 marks which are to be commenced from 9.30 am to 10.45 am. It will consist of 60 questions out of which 50 questions are must to be attempted.

Paper number two, the candidates will have one hour and fifteen minutes(1H;15M) in hand, for 50 compulsory questions to be answered with 2 marks each making it a 100 marks paper.

And the last paper or the third paper is of 150 Marks with an extended time and makes it to two-and-a-half hours(2H;30M) paper scheduled to be commenced at 2 pm to 4:30 pm, and comprises of 75 questions, which must be answered on a compulsory basis.
