Read the following passage and answer the question that follows :–

India is a big country with population, next to China only in the world. It is a country having diversity of culture, religious, languages, races and socioeconomic problems. It is the biggest functional democracy in the world and the world looks at it working with interest. The question of its future is often raised by several political thinkers. It has gone through so many stressing socioeconomic and political situations. Recently it has experienced a hung Parliament at the Centre. In Uttar Pradesh too, it is experiencing a political crisis. There have certainly been such occasions when the future of democracy is felt at stake. But the system has never stagnated. It has been working, no matter sluggishly, to keep on moving.
