ENGLISH- VII Exciting times are here again! It’s summer time once again, with fun-filled days. However, these days can also be a fruitful time for learning and creativity. So let’s ensure that students do a lot of reading and some enjoyable homework too. Please ensure that the homework is original and in your own handwriting.  All work should be done in a separate Scrap file. Cover the file beautifully and decorate it  Enhance your speaking skills by interacting with your family members and friends in English (at least twice in a day)

Ques 1: Read any one of the following books and prepare a book cover for the same.

 Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain

 Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by J K Rowling

Also write its book review of the book .Don’t forget to include the following points:

a) An outline of the plot.

b) Brief description of the main characters

c) The positive and negative aspects of the novel in relation to its Characters, Setting, Plot , Language etc.

d) To whom would you recommend the book to read? And Why?

Ques 2: a) Read at least five stories written by Ruskin Bond or R.K Narayan . Rewrite the stories in your own words with different ending .

b) Prepare an audio presentation of the same in your own words with Justification of the story title, describing important characters and moral of the story. Record the same in and audio CD.

Ques 3: Read the book ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ by J K Rowling. Prepare dialogues of any important incident mentioned in the text and record in the CD.

Ques 4: Read the newspaper daily. Pick any one news report everyday and rewrite the same news in your own words. Paste the news report with your review (60 to 80 words) in your creative files.

Ques 5: Write a creative and original story based on the given clues:

a) A Trip to the Moon _____________

b) Ram was a patriotic soldier____________

c) Across the road there was a hut where lived an old man _______________

d) Once upon a time there was a strong bull named Dara ________________

Add related pictures to make it more impressive and attractive.

Ques 6: Revise all the topics and lessons taught and explained in class during month of April and May and get ready for the surprise test after the vacation.

Ques 7: Interview any two people sharing their opinion about the importance of education in our life. Include at least 10 questions and record the same in an audio CD. Also record a speech to be delivered in the morning Assembly of school sharing your opinion about the same .
