Driving in Kolkata is not easy. The traffic moves very slowly in central Kolkata-about 12 km per hour. You also need to drive carefully because some drivers are very impatient and drive dangerously. Another problem is finding a place to park. Car-parks are very expensive. It isoften better to leave your car outside the city centre and then you can easily travel into the centre on public transport. The buses and the metro railway are very good. There are lots of excellent restaurants in Kolkata and if you have the money, you can eat very well. In Kolkata you can eat Indian, Thai, French, Chinese food… everything!
