The Main Mantra for BITSAT is: “ACCURACY WITH SPEED”
Now to come up in equilibrium with the main mantra, following are the other basic mantras to be kept in mind:
Mantra 1: Believe in Yourself: This mantra is the essential ingredient for clearing the competitive exam of BITS Pilani. The right and positive approach is the basics on which everything works. The mere thought that we have the potential to achieve the desired goal helps us to strategically chocking out the best plan for reaching the wanted destination. According to experts, BITSAT is said to be easier as compared to other national level examinations. So, with self-belief and the basic understanding of concepts, aspirants can take the challenge of easily cracking the examination.
Mantra 2: Organize Study Space: Concentration is the necessary facilitator for cracking the BITS admission test. It is required at both situations, while preparing for the entrance examination as well as while appearing for the same. An organized atmosphere helps us to create a friendly and a pleasant ambience to concentrate well. It is best if we have enough space on our desk to spread our textbooks and notes with our room sufficiently bright and a sitting space comfortable enough to support our long study hours. We can also add flash cards with formulas, equations and short cuts on the pin board in our room to make the preparation an interesting journey. Thus, organizing the study space is very important as it helps us to avoid distractions and keep our focus on the curriculum which in turn helps us to achieve satisfaction by completing the course on time.
Mantra 3: Time Management: Planning your work before the actual work is the essence of favorable outcome. Properly maintained study schedules play a very vital role in all competitive examinations including BITSAT. We if know how to manage our time, we can do preparations at ease without unnecessary anxieties. As, the experienced have said- “Time management is the key to Success”. For making a time table we need to understand the syllabus at length and the time needed to complete it. For an effective plan we should divide the time in hand equally amongst all the main parts of BITSAT, namely, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Mathematics, English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning. We should emphasize on making a study schedule that fits our way of studying and do not leave anything for the last minute.
Mantra 4: Follow the Syllabus Strictly: BITSAT, principally, evaluates the theoretical knowledge of the candidate based on the NCERT curriculum. BITS admission test includes all the major parts of the 10+2 syllabus. In the previous years, it has been observed that rarely a question is asked that is beyond the scope of NCERT curriculam. So, do not waste time in solving unnecessary questions which are not at all related to the specified course line. Largely, study NCERT books thoroughly to erase every speck of concept related doubts before appearing for BITSAT. It is advisable to study and practice more and more from the NCERT and affiliated books which have the potential to take us to the best results.
Mantra 5: Refer Best Books: Along with the hard work it is very important to have the right study material to guide us through the most talked about prestigious examination, BITSAT. So, here is a subject wise list of books suggested and referred by the toppers which were very helpful to them while preparing. Mantra 6: Read a Good Newspaper Everyday: BITSAT is an online computer based entrance examination, competitive and quite elaborate in nature. It has a total of 150 questions, out of which 25 are reserved for Logical Reasoning and English Proficiency. Neither of these two subjects can be tackled using conventional bookish techniques which are viable for PCM. Rather, reading a good national English newspaper on daily basis will be very helpful for delivering these 25 questions at the best. Aspirants who have a habit of reading since childhood, will enjoy preparing and performing this section. Generally, students tend to ignore preparations for this section as they are more consumed with other important subjects. Whereas, preparing well for this section can help them to score a good rank in BITSAT.
Mantra 7: Prepare and Perform Smartly: Preparing according to the Marking Scheme is the trick of the game. All the sections carry different marks. Each correct answer fetches 3 marks, while every incorrect answer has a penalty of 1 mark, so it is very important for us to focus on the questions which can surely generate positive marks and avoid the possibility of deduction. We must understand our strengths as well as weaknesses and the starting section of the paper must be the most confident one for sure. Prepare the conceptual questions of all the sections but do not waste time on the sections which are wage and can kill your time in the beginning. Later on, we can try to improve our hold on the comparatively weaker topics by revising them every day. Create flashcards for the important formulas, equations and short cuts to solve complicated problems. Try and revise all of them every day, once before calling it a day. This can save lot of our precious time.
Mantra 8: Grab Bonus Points: BITSAT is the only exam which provides an additional incentive for students who have the will to cross the excellence bar! A candidate who answers all the 150 questions, without skipping any question, gets an option of attempting 12 (twelve) extra questions, in the same time frame. These extra questions are from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology only, four questions from each part. It is to be kept in mind that once the candidate has opted for extra questions, he or she cannot go back to the earlier answered 150 questions for any sort of correction. The questions are designed in a way that extraordinary students will be able to answer 150 questions in 180 minutes. This is possibly the only examination where the applicant can score more than the maximum marks by attempting the 12 bonus questions. So, we must not leave any stone unturned to grab the offer.
Mantra 9: Practice with experts: Once the students have completed the preparation for the first time, it is time to go to the experts for the final rounds of practice. We, at studiestoday.com, believe in providing the best practice rounds for the aspiring students which consists of mock tests, sample papers, previous years question papers and fine inputs from the teachers and senior students. Try to solve maximum number of online mock tests as well as previous year’s question papers to get familiar with the BITSAT pattern of the repeated questions and formats for best results.
We believe, that concentration, good hand on time management and self-confidence are the keys to qualify The Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani Admission Test- BITSAT. So,Stay focused and motivated to score good marks “Believe In Yourself and give ways to your Wings” Good Luck!
