NSTSE Eligibility Criteria

Qualifying Classes

  • Students of Class 2 to Class 12 are eligible to give NSTSE exam, according to NSTSE criteria

Qualifying Subjects

  • Students of Class XI and Class XII from either PCB or PCM are eligible to appear for exam
  • Students of Class XII from PCMB are not eligible

Exam Pattern

  • The duration of National Level Science Talent Search Examination (NSTSE) is 1 hour
  • The language of NSTSE is English
  • NSTSE is held once in a year

National Level Science Talent Search Examination (NSTSE)

Unified Council conducts National Level Science Talent Search Examination (NSTSE) for students of class 2 to class 12.  NSTSE is an exam which actually helps students improves as it tests their understanding of concept and gives feedback on the same. NSTSE is said to be the unique problem solving as unlike other exams which test how much students have learned it rather test their ability of logical reasoning. Thus, NSTSE helps each student to know early whether they understood certain concepts or not and then likewise action can be taken. NSTSE focus on the fact that for student it is very important to understand the fundamentals because after schools they have to face the competitive exams like IIT JEE, CAT, GMAT, AIEEE etc.

National Rankers

  • The topper of NSTSE will be awarded with a cash prize of 2 lakhs (among all classes)
  • Top 3 students of every class will be given Tablet PC, Memento and a Medal
  • Students who score ranks from 4 to 10 will get 3000 rupees and students who rank between 11 to 40 in each class will get 1000 rupees
  • Rankers from 41 to 100 will be awarded with- BMA’s Talent & Olympiad Exams Resource book from M/s. Brain Mapping Academy, each
  • All the rankers from 1 to 100 will be given- Britannica Kids Online Subscription worth rupees 2500, a Medal and a Certificate.
  • While there are prizes according to State and City wise as well after excluding the top 100 ranks across country

 

Eligibility for NSTSE exam    

 

Below will the eligibility criteria according to NSTSE exam 2020:

  • Students of Class 2 to Class 12 are eligible to give NSTSE exam, according to NSTSE criteria
  • Students of Class XI and Class XII from either PCB or PCM are eligible to appear for exam
  • Students of Class XII from PCMB are not eligible

Application:

NSTSE registration process is of 2 types:

  • Students can individually register themselves online and they have to make payment through net banking, debit card or credit card
  • Students can also register through school. In this case, the application form is collected from school and students can pay it to their respective school
