AP EAMCET Eligibility Criteria

Nationality and Domicile Requirements

  • Candidates must be Indian citizens to apply for AP EAMCET 2020.

  • Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card Holders can also apply for the entrance exam.

  • Candidates hailing from Andhra Pradesh/ Telangana will have to satisfy Local/ Non-Local status requirements

Age Limit

  • Candidates must be at least 16 years of age as on December 31, 2020.

  • There is no upper age limit for applying for AP EAMCET 2020.

  • Candidates seeking admission in B.Tech Dairy Technology, B.Tech Agricultural Engineering, B.Tech Food Science & Technology, candidates must be minimum 17 years of age as on December 31, 2020.

  • Upper age limit in this case will be 22 years for general category candidates whereas for SC/ST category candidates, the upper age limit is 25 years.

Academic Qualifications

  • Candidates must have passed their class 12 from Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh/ Telangana, candidates appear for their class 12 are also eligible to apply.

  • Candidates must have compulsorily studied Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry or related vocational courses in the field of Engineering as an optional subject.

  • Candidates who have qualified any other examination recognized as equivalent by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh/ Telangana will also deemed eligible to appear for the entrance test.
    OR

  • Candidates who have passed or are in their final year of Diploma exam in Engineering conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh/Telangana will also be eligible to appear for AP EAMCET 2020.

  • Candidates must have secured minimum 45% aggregate score in all subjects combined. Candidates belonging to the reserved category must have scored minimum 40% marks.

About AP EAMCET exam

AP EAMCET or Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture, Medical Common Entrance Test is an online state level Entrance exam which is conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Kakinada. The AP EAMCET 2020 will be held in the third week of April and this test can be given once a year. AP EAMCET offers admission in Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy courses. Some of the courses are:

  • Tech. (Diary Technology)
  • Tech. (food Science & Technology)
  • Sc. (Horticulture)
  • F.Sc
  • Tech. (Agriculture Engineering)
  • Sc (Agriculture)
  • Bio-Technology
  • Pharmacy and Pharma.D

Eligibility for EAMCET exam

Below will the eligibility criteria according to EAMCET exam 2020:

 

  • Candidate should be an Indian Citizen/ Person of Indian origin (PIO) or overseas citizen of India (OCI)
  • Candidate must have a domicile certificate and he/she must be a resident of Andhra Pradesh/ Telangana state. And should meet the requirement of the local or non local status by the Educational Institutes under the admission regulation of Andhra Pradesh.
  • Candidate must have passed or appearing in the Class 12th or Equivalent or Intermediate exam recognized by Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh. While for Pharm.D course, general category candidates must have scored at least 45% marks and for SC/ST at least 40% marks
  • Medical/ Pharmacy: Candidate must have passed in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry as an optional subject or with biological and Natural Sciences.

Exam Pattern of AP EAMCET

The following are the details of the exam pattern of AP EAMCET 2020. By knowing about the exam pattern, the candidate can be able to get familiar with the particulars like mode, duration, section, marking scheme etc.

 

  • Firstly AP EAMCET is a computer based exam i.e. online exam. And for that candidate can give AP EAMCET Mock test to get familiar with the pattern
  • AP EAMCET exam will have multiple choice questions i.e. MCQs
  • Every correct answer will fetch 1 mark each while if the candidate get not attempted or answered no marks will be deducted i.e. no negative marking
  • For the AP EAMCET exam’s syllabus candidate must check the official website of the same as it is released by the authorities of AP EAMCET
  • In AP EAMCET exam there will be 160 (MCQs) questions which is to be completed in the duration of 3 hours
  • Section wise Distribution of Questions are:

            Physics-40 Questions

           Chemistry-40 Questions

          Mathematics- 80 Questions
