New Guidelines in Delhi Schools for CORONAVIRUS

The Schools of Delhi strives for Good Health and Wellness for all its community of Students, Parents and Staff, after the daily increasing of positive cases of Coronavirus in Delhi.

The Delhi Government instructed all the schools of the state on Thursday to shut down for the students of Pre-School to Class V till the 31st of March 2020. Whereas, the senior wing in the school is still continuing with their exams.

As a precautionary measure taken by most of the Delhi Schools, new guidelines have been introduced and shared by the teachers and parents for the safety of the children, parents and school staff from the threat of the spreading Coronavirus.

The 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV), Wuhan coronavirus, is a contagious virus that causes respiratory infection which can transfer from human to human. To reduce risk of Coronavirus infection schools are sharing leaflets consisting of the DO’s and DON’Ts and other relevant information regarding the deadly virus.

The Board Exams and exams of the senior classes are in process, thus schools cannot shut down completely for the session. Therefore, to protect the students and school staff attending school due to exams, special guidelines are being issued by the school administration to stop Coronavirus from spreading through the schools.

Numbers of wellness drives are going on in Delhi schools and extra focus have been given on Sanitization of Schools in Regular Intervals.

As a part of wellness drive, schools have decided to give a water break for the students in first, third, fifth and seventh period apart from that in the break time. Parents are requested to send a steel water bottle with the child everyday so that he or she can regularly drink water.

The School Coordinators of Delhi schools have asked the parents to send 2 more tiffin every day-   one of fruit to be had by the child in the morning and one of a snack or dry fruits, fresh home cooked food for eating just before school gets over. This will work as a great tool to improve the immunity system of the children which will save them from getting infected from the spreading Coronavirus in the National Capital.

Students of Delhi are being regularly updated about the traits of coronavirus in the schools. Human Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) most commonly spread from an infected person to other through – the air by coughing and sneezing, close personal contact by touching or shaking hands. The authorities are worried about the well-being of the students as this virus can also spread by touching an object or surface with the virus on it, then touching your mouth, nose, or eyes before washing your hands. Thus, children are being given special self-cleanliness sessions during school hours.

As per the statement given by the Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Thursday, PM Narendra Modi is concerned and personally monitoring the situation arising out of the coronavirus scare.

Delhi is on High Health Alert and Concrete Measures are being taken at different school levels to counter the effect of this contagious virus.

24*7 Control Room has been established at DGHS (HQ), which can be contacted for any query related to nCoV-2020! The details of the same are being made available in all schools of Delhi.
