UP government schools will follow NCERT pattern from April 2020

If yes, then you have to see what major changes UP government schools have brought for 2020.The UP government is fully prepared to implement NCERT pattern for primary and upper primary schools located in the state. As per the latest report, all state government-run primary and upper primary schools will follow the NCERT pattern from April 2020. The decision is expected to affect more than 1.59 lakh primary and upper primary schools and more than 15 million students studying there.

Also, students may download NCERT Solutions for Class 6 and refer them while preparing for the CBSE class 6 exams.

Why move to NCERT pattern?

One of the key reasons for implementing the NCERT pattern for primary-level school students is to boost the confidence level of their students so that they can give tough competition to other board students. The introduction of NCERT pattern at primary and upper primary levels will give students of UP government schools an excellent edge in education while competing against the best students of central and other boards.  

Senior executives working on policy formats

Media reports have also claimed that the minister has already issued instructions to senior officials of the department for the design of the policy to ensure well-ordered implementation of the new pattern for primary and upper primary schools. Earlier, UP board exam 2019 was also based on NCERT pattern.

Biometric Attendance for Students

After the introductions of NCERT pattern for primary and upper primary school students, UP government is thinking to introduce a biometric-based attendance system for students studying in UP government schools. Additionally, teachers also mark their attendance by posting the 3 selfies a day through the ‘Prerna’ app whereas students will mark their attendance through the biometric machine. Moreover, Prerna Mobile Application was launched by UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on 4th September 2019 – a day before Teacher’s Day.

Focus on Quality Education at School Level

The purpose of the UP board is to provide quality education by appointing the Director-General of School Education who will focus only on education quality improvement in government schools. The Director-General of School Education will be responsible for designing policies to bring qualitative improvement in government primary and upper primary schools located in the state.

Additionally, the UP Basic Shiksha Parishad officials are required to coordinate with state government officials and they are required to come to Lucknow from Prayagraj which waste their lot of time. Therefore, to avoid the delays in normal functioning, the headquarters of UP Basic Shiksha Parishad office will be shifted to Lucknow who is currently located in Prayagraj.
