Career Options for PCB students after Class 12th

If you’re the one who opted for the medical stream because you liked studying biology. Unfortunately, you have been unable to clear the NEET exam and now worried about their future. Actually, most people think that career options for PCB end at medical. Today in this article we will be talking about some of the career options for PCB stream which students can pursue after class 12th.

Here is the list of career options for PCB students after 12th:

Botany: It is one of the vast branches of biology to opt for. It includes the study of plants, their structure, processes, growths, etc. As a researcher, teacher/professor, taxonomist, horticulturist, nursery manager, and environmental consultant are the jobs in botany.

Zoology: It includes the study of the animal kingdom. In zoology, you can also study structure, life processes, genetics, physiology, classification and interactions of various species in details. Jobs related to zoology include becoming a researcher, animal breeder, wildlife rehabilitator, wildlife biologist, zoo curator, conservationist, teacher/professor in schools and colleges, etc.

Microbiology: If anyone has an interest in the study of microscopic organisms such as bacteria, fungi etc. and their interactions with human, animals, plants and other organisms then he/she can go for microbiology. It includes further subfields such as virology, bacteriology, parasitology, mycology etc. With a degree in microbiology, you can find work as a clinical researcher, research scientist, lab technician, quality control, working in pharmaceuticals, health sector, food industries, breweries, distilleries, agriculture, etc.

Biochemistry: In biochemistry, students can study both chemistry & biology together. A biochemist is the one who solves the biological problems through the concepts of chemistry. Jobs related to biochemistry include becoming a biomedical scientist, forensic scientist, clinical laboratory technologist, toxicologist, research scientist, healthcare scientist, pharmaceutical sales representative, consultant, patient care coordinator, lab technician, medical coder, etc.
 
Genetics: In this field, students study about genetic diseases, anomalies, traits, mutations, how genes are transmitted, interactions of genes with their environment, etc.As a geneticist, immunologist, cytogeneticist, forensic DNA analyst, medical technologist, pharmacologist are the jobs options in Genetics 

Bioinformatics: It involves the techniques for analyzing the biological data by studying biology, computer science and information technology together. Jobs related to bioinformatics include becoming a bioinformatics analyst or a developer with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, healthcare organisations, pharmaceuticals

Marine Biology: It involves the study of marine organisms, including their behaviour, and interactions with the environment. Fishery Science is also related career tomarine biology. Opportunities in Marine Biology includes aquaculturist, fishery biologist, environmental consultant, researcher, etc.

Biotechnology: Biotechnology is all about towork in different areas to improve our life, by improving the production of food items, developing drugs to deal with deadly diseases, etc. Job related to biotechnology includesbecomingpharmaceuticals, healthcare, genetics, or clinical research, sales and marketing, quality control, administration, or as a laboratory assistant or a field technician.

Biomedical Science: Biomedical professionals work in the domain of health care and also study how cells, organs, and processes function in the human body. With a degree in biomedical science, you can find work as a biomedical scientist, clinical researcher, forensic scientist, toxicologist, immunologist, and other healthcare professions.

Allied Medicine: If you have utmost interest in Medical career but unfortunately you have been unable to become an MBBS then this career option is best for you. Jobs related to Allied Medicine include becoming a Physiotherapy, Audiology, Occupational Therapy, Medical Lab Technology, Clinical Research, Radiology, etc.
