NCERT Books in all UP schools

The UP education board has decided to make NCERT books mandatory for class 10 and class 12 from current session onwards. The announcement was made by the chief minister at the Niti Aayog meeting.

The books are also available on the UP boards website for students to download.

In order to improve the education level in government schools, the government has decided to increase the working days from 190 to 220.

The decision is going to impact almost 1 crore students in various government funded schools in the state.

Examination system Overhaul

The board exams of 2018 for class 10 and class 12 was a major task for CBSE. There were rumours of paper leak almost for every exam and couple of papers actually leaked which led to re-examination conducted by the board.

Keeping the challenges faced by the CBSE board, there are plans to completely overhaul the examination system by use of more technology in distribution and printing of question papers.

Compartment Exams for class 10 and class 12

The process for starting the registration for compartment examinations for class 10 and class 12 has started. CBSE has recently issued a notification providing details of the schedule to be followed for registration and submission of fees.

The CBSE board has also sent the notification to the schools regarding compartment examinations process for regular and private students.

CBSE will activate the portal for submission of list of students for compartment examinations for class 10 and class 12 by June 12. The registrations will close by June 21.

Grading System in CBSE For 10th and 12th

For awarding the grades, the Board shall put all the passed students in a rank order and will award grades as follows:

· A-1 Top 1/8th of the passed candidates
· A-2 Next 1/8th of the passed candidates
· B-1 Next 1/8th of the passed candidates
· B-2 Next 1/8th of the passed candidates
· C-1 Next 1/8th of the passed candidates
· C-2 Next 1/8th of the passed candidates
· D-1 Next 1/8th of the passed candidates
· D-2 Next 1/8th of the passed candidates
· E Failed candidates

Class 12 and Class 10 Board Exam results 2018

Its expected that CBSE will release the results for class 10and class 12 board exams by end of next week. The results will be declared by many mediums so that students across the country don’t face any issues regarding accessibility to results due to sudden pressure on CBSE results website like previous years.

The Central Board of Secondary Education's CBSE Class 12th result 2018 and CBSE Class 10th Result 2018 will also be available on many government websites like cbse.examresults.net, cbseresults.nic.in and on results.gov.in.

CBSE has issued the following circular regarding celebrating World Environment Day:

World Environment Day is celebrated on June 5 every year. This year India is hosting the World Environment Day 2018 at global level in collaboration with UN Environment on the theme “Plastic Pollution"

You are, therefore, requested to sensitize students by organizing awareness programmes on environmental conservation by conducting appropriate activities such as:

a)      Encouraging students to refuse, reduce and reuse plastic products in daily life.

World Robot Olympiad (WRO) 2018: CBSE Circular

The India STEM Foundation is jointly organizing the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) 2018 with National Council of Science Museum (NCSM), an autonomous society under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The key objectives of this Olympiad are to build scientific temperament and 21st century skills in students, foster an eco-system of tinkering aimed at promoting innovative and creative thinking. The theme for WRO 2018 is “Food Matters”.

Participation is voluntary and is entirely at the discretion of schools and students.
