NCERT issued suggested curriculum for pre-schools

There was no curriculum designed or suggested by NCERT for pre school students due to which pre schools follow their own curriculum and prepare the students to attend regular school. In order to standardize the education system in pre schools also NCERT has come out with suggested curriculum for pre school students also.

NCERT has come out with two documents:-“Guidelines for Preschool Education” and a “Curriculum for Preschool education” to help the teachers, administrators, policy planners and other stake holders to provide good quality preschool education to children. The guidelines provide the parameters for infrastructure, qualifications and salary for preschool staff, admission process and records and registers to be managed, importance of coordination and conversions with community and parents.

The curriculum has been designed for two years of preschool before class I, which includes three major goals to be achieved highlighting the key concepts/ skills, pedagogical processes and learning outcomes for Preschool I and II.
