The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is going to launch new comprehensive books very first time with the stories based upon the north-east Indian history, culture and war heroes for the better growth and knowledge of the CBSE students.

This proposal came in the discussion when a 20-year-old student from Arunachal Pradesh, Nido Tania, was brutally killed in a racial attack of 2014. After some more similar attacks, this becomes a talking point of the town that these attacks are the result of less information and sensitization about north-east India in the citizens of the country based on other parts.

The book is named as, 'North East India — People, History and Culture', which explains about all the eight states — Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim in great detail and for the first time the freedom fighters from this region can be known to the students deeply.
