The UP education board has decided to make NCERT books mandatory for class 10 and class 12 from current session onwards. The announcement was made by the chief minister at the Niti Aayog meeting.
The books are also available on the UP boards website for students to download.
In order to improve the education level in government schools, the government has decided to increase the working days from 190 to 220.
The decision is going to impact almost 1 crore students in various government funded schools in the state.
Earlier announcement was made to make NCERT books mandatory in madrassas across the UP state.
The government also provides various free facilities to students like clothes, free books, shoes and meals to encourage parents to send their children to schools.
Implementing NCERT books across all schools will standardize the education and will help all students studying in government or private schools to be at par.
