National Council of Educational Research and Training is going to conduct a National Achievement Test (NAS Test) for Class 10 students of CBSE, ICSE affiliated schools and on February 5 in Gurugram (Gurgaon).
The test is scheduled to be conducted in more than 100 private and government schools in the city. The test will be conducted for five subjects which are mathematics, English, social and natural sciences, and modern Indian languages.
NCERT has been conducting the NAS tests in various states since last couple of years in order to access the learning skills and capabilities of the students which helps NCERT to make changes in the books published every year. Recommendations are also sent to CBSE which makes changes in the syllabus of the classes and subjects wherever required.
The tests are conducted in the school premises and invigilated by the school teachers. Till now mathematics has been the subjects in which the students have been scoring low marks. Thus steps will be taken by NCERT to improve the understanding of mathematics by better methods of teaching.
