Major impact on CBSE schools and students due to preponing of exams

This has been a Shocking news for most of the school in the city as The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) decides to move board exams from the month of March to February for the academic year 2018-19. As the CBSE schools in the states are now struggling to complete the portions, some schools don’t find an adequate number of working days to complete portion and do a proper revision.

As said by T P M Ibrahim Khan, president of Kerala CBSE school management Association “with a number of protest, hartals and holidays in Kerala you need proper 220 days to complete a CBSE syllabus and now it is even more difficult to complete it.” The association as henceforth written to CBSE, requesting to delay and imprint the new examination policy by next year allowing the school to blend with the change.

“Though advancing exams would have an adverse effect on the students. The only way to complete the syllabus is by minimizing the number of holidays and if that happens the child could be drained out by the end of two years” says Father Anthony M, principal of the Sacred Heart School.

Preponderant of the exams leads to preponderant of practical exams too which rightly seems that there is no time left for school to complete the syllabus, he said.

As CBSE finds this way to get “error free” evaluation and avoid further controversy regarding the matter but CBSE should also understand that it requires time to implement it. “The only thing which can be done now is by reducing the size of the syllabus. But instead of drastic measure, the CBSE need to mold and bring up a positive change”, said Anthony.
