India skills 2018 Competition CBSE Circular

Indiaskills competition is being held this year from 2nd October till 6th October. This event is held once in two years in which participants from all states in India come together to showcase their skills in a wide variety of activities. The state governments provide support to their respective participants. This year the competition will be held in Delhi at Aerocity. CBSE has also issued a circular to the schools to encourage students to visit the competition premises and witness the events. It will be a great opportunity for them to see the participants and their skills. This will motivate the students to develop their interests in some skillset and develop in future. As you may be aware, India Skills Competition is the largest skill competition in the country held every two years exhibiting extraordinary talent from across the country. The initiative by National Skill Development Corporation under the aegis of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship aims to showcase the power of skills and raise the recognition of skilled professionals worldwide.

This year the India Skills Competition will be held from 2nd to 6th October in New Delhi.

This competition will witness more than 400 competitors participating in 46 skills, 6 traditional skills and 4 demo skills.

The winners would get an opportunity to represent India at the World Skills International Competition scheduled next year in Kazan, Russia. Additionally, for the first time, Abilympics, Olympics of Abilities is being organized in 10 skills featuring persons with disability.

The vocational skills competition is specifically designed for specially-abled individuals to express their unique talents. The event will also include youth engagement activities such as ‘Try a Skill’ and counselling sessions, skill exhibition, seminars and panel discussions.

A brief event flow is as follows:

  1. 2 nd Oct. 2018: Inaugural Ceremony
  2. 3 rd Oct. 2018: Skill Ministers’ Conclave, Skill Competitions, Career Counselling
  3. 4 th Oct. 2018: Skill Competitions, Career Counselling
  4. 5 th Oct. 2018: Skill Competitions, Career Counselling, CEO Roundtable Conference
  5. 6 th Oct. 2018: Closing Ceremony
