CBSE to allow answer book scrutiny

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has now taken a great step by allowing the scrutiny of answer sheets of 10th and 12th class examinations following the intervention of Delhi High Court in the matter. The decision is made with a condition for students which states that only those students can apply for scrutiny of answer sheets who have applied for the photocopies of their already checked scripts. Request for scrutiny of marks for a particular question(s) in theory paper will be received offline attracting a demand draft till July 7.

Delhi High Court has been told by CBSE last week regarding the matter that if any student feels that his or her answer books were not correctly evaluated, to clear his or her doubts; he or she can approach the board under the verification scheme and solve all his doubts. Though the request has to be made via application and further process will be carried out as per the guidelines set by CBSE.

Information and Schedules Regarding the Scrutiny of Answer Books by CBSE!

As CBSE has allowed the scrutiny of answers sheets and in regard to which the Central Board of Secondary Education has published the below-given Information and Schedules for the scrutiny:

  • In 12th Class, only those students are allowed to have their answer sheets scrutinised who have applied for obtaining the photocopy of their evaluated answer books.
  • Scrutiny of marks is only allowed to limited subjects like; Mathematics, English Core, English Elective, English Elective (NCERT), Hindi Core, Hindi Elective, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Economics, Accountancy and Business Studies.
  • If representations regarding the event of non-awarding of marks to particular questions in class 10th occurred, it will be dealt as per procedure and verification of grades by CBSE.
  • The rate for questions to be checked will be Rs 100/- per question and a student can maximum entertain only 10 questions for non-theory portion in the subjects above mentioned.
  • The request for scrutiny of marks for the selected question(s) shall be entertained only though offline mode with Demand Draft in the favour of “Secretary, CBSE” drawn at the place where Regional Office (RC) is located from 1st of July, 2017 to 7th of July, 2017 or through National Electronic Fund Transfer (NEFT).
  • Scrutiny of Marks and the request for said will be accepted only one from a student. Candidates are further notified to check the website regarding the marks and other rules being shown on the website and then after submitting the application for scrutiny.
  • If there will be difference of 5 marks or more in the subject applied for scrutinized then only the previous marks allotted to that subject will stand nullified and new marks will be given to student with new mark sheet but if there is difference of 01 or 02 marks, the same shall be considered for addition even if there are less than 5 marks.
  • A fresh statement will be issued to the candidate in the event of increasing or decreasing of marks after the scrutiny of answer books.
  • Scrutiny status of answer books will be uploaded on the internet for the subject and will also be sent a formal letter through a speed post.
  • The fee will be paid back to the student if the marks of that question will attract an upward in marks but if there comes no upward or increase in marks, null will be refunded back to the student.
  • If there will be no increase or decrease in the marks even after the scrutiny of answer books, there will not be any refund of the fee paid for scrutiny of answer book by the student.
  • The Board will stand not affected by any delay or communication reason loss during the process and thus it reserved the right to reject any on an internal description.
  • None of the applications from students will be accepted without fee and incomplete applications will attract a clear rejection.
