The Year 2013 is the "Year of the Crossword" as in this year crossword puzzles have become 100 years old.
A crossword can appear inviting and yet daunting to many of us. Many of us even though fully equipped to face the challenge of solving cryptic crosswords, turn away longingly, not daring to pull out pens to crack the code.
Crossword puzzles help learners improve their reasoning, spelling and word attack skills and make an interesting and effective educational tool. The teachers and learners also benefit a great deal by using them in the teaching-learning process. They help to enhance vocabulary, strengthen word recall and memory, stimulate problem solving skills, and improve focus and attention.
Keeping in mind all the above mentioned benefits, the Board has decided to collaborate with Sudha Dairy in organizing All – India Inter-School Crossword Championship for the first time ever for the students of Class VIII-XII.
